NATS 04/09/2012
NATS aka Too Much Media have been hacked. This affiliate back-end program is used by several adult programs so this is really BIG news. NATS used to have a good name within the industry by this seems to have gone with the wind. If its possible to hack the back-end information and get access not only to TooMuchMedia BUT also access to the servers of the adult programs servers this is really a shitty security and shitty program - We have one three words for this: NOT FUCKING GOOD! Here is some of the posted messages on GFY: -Yes, some people have posted that their logs show that the hacker was regulary making complete database dumps. -They stole everything. your name, address, login/passwords -Fuck NATS. Fuck Too Much Media. And fuck you for your fake patronizing bullshit post of an apology. An eye opener. Give me a fucking break. Your eyes have been open to this issue for a long time it would appear and you did everything you could to keep all of us in the dark. -sorry, you did your best to keep this issue from the boards, you told everyone it's not a widespread issue and you wanted to get your lawyer involved when a hosting company took care of their clients about this a couple of months ago. meanwhile you did nothing to warn all other NATS clients who only found out BECAUSE someone had the balls to keep posting about this. -Let me add further that the implications of this backdoor are far reaching. Now it seems that nobody is certain what this person took but from what I am reading through the specific account he was using he had full access to all information stored in NATs, which again based on what I am reading includes reversable affiliates passwords, member passwords, affiliates personal info and member personal info, possibly credit card #'s and wm bank acct #'s..... -ALL MERCHANT / PROCESSING logins and paswords are stored in NATS. If this info was lifted, it would mean that the person has admin access to your NATS / CCBill / Epoch / Whatever. -It's funny the way people act on gfy, there are just as many people using fake nicks that want to bash you as there are people who tell you great job when you say you are sorry. I am sorry but in my opinion there is no room for error for something like this. "opps" doesn't cut it when it comes to having all of my data possibly stolen from me. My sales data, stolen. The identity of who my top affiliates are, stolen. All of my members emails, stolen. "opps, sorry" is when your server goes offline for a couple mins because someone accidentally knocked the plug out. "opps sorry" is when an error cost me a couple hours of downtime and some sales. This isn't one of those cases. ALL OF MY DATA MAY HAVE BEEN STOLEN. One of my competitors could have their hands on my data right now. When people have brought up the conflict of issue with you in the past, your reply is " trust me". I trusted you, not so much that you would personally hand over my data but also that you would do a great job of protecting it. In case you are wondering, I am not a troll or fake nick. I am one of your clients. I really wish you would stop with the " trolls this and people bashing me that" and spend more of your time, effort, and energy on securing your servers. You are not going to win fighting with fake nicks and I really wish you would stop posting about it. Ignore them, take the heat and try to stay on the high road. Every time you go on and on and on and on about how fake nicks are attacking you, you drop yourself down a couple notches. If you would have prevented the problem from happening in the first place there would be no need for you to be trying to defend yourself. Just give it up already. The last thing one of your clients wants to hear is poor you and how people are giving you a hard time. Add Comment technorati 02/22/2012
